Here

Senior Access is here to help our clients throughout this pandemic. Our Van rides have started again with some safe practices. We are currently scheduling medical appointment rides. Volunteers can sign up to drive if you feel comfortable doing so. Volunteers and clients will wear a mask, use hand sanitizer, and sit as far away from each other as possible. If you are a volunteer and have a fever or are showing any symptoms of illness, please do not drive. If you are a client and have a fever or are showing any symptoms, please inform the office and let your doctor know.
With our population in the vulnerable category, we want to assure our clients stay home
and away from possible illnesses. Safety is our first priority. With this in mind, a Senior Buddy Program was put in place to help clients have access to groceries and socialization through phone calls, texts, and video chats.

Staff  continues to work remotely and check messages daily. We will stay active in the updates from the CDC. As challenging as this is, we want to ensure that our clients, volunteers and staff are safe.

CHANGES IN VAN ROUTES AND SCHEDULES

Our vans will only transport 6 seniors at one time for each route.

We have rearranged some of our areas.

For individuals living: Howard Lane to 290 will be grouped in the Northeast Austin area.

For individuals living: 290 to Cesar Chavez will be in the East Austin area.

Each 1st, 3rd, and 5th week will be rides to local HEBs.

Each 2nd and 4th week will be rides to local Walmarts.

Tuesdays:

Van 1: Round Rock and Hutto

Van 2: Manor and Northeast Austin

Wednesdays: Pflugerville

Thursdays: East Austin (290-Cesar Chavez)

To ride the van, each client needs to

  • sign and send in the waiver,

  • must have their temperature checked prior to entrance in the van (no one will be allowed in the van with a temperature 100 or over)

  • must wear a mask during the ride and will be given hand sanitizer.

  • call a week in advance to request a seat.

There is still time to have your donation doubled by the match. Consider donating now to help Valerie and others like her.

Don't miss out on this annual event.

It may look a little different this year, but we promise excellent music and an evening full of holiday cheer.

HOW DIFFERENT WOULD YOUR LIFE BE IF YOU COULDN'T DRIVE?

How would you do your grocery shopping? How would you get to the doctor or pick up your prescriptions?  Your time or donations could help thousands of senior citizens without transportation in Round Rock, Pflugerville, Hutto, and East Austin, to stay in their own homes.  Perhaps one of your family members has needed such a service in the past and you’d like to give back, or possibly you’re looking for a worthy way to spend some of your extra time, or maybe  you’re looking for a great cause to get needed service hours - whatever reason you may have, you can make a big difference here!

WHY WE DRIVE

Senior Access was founded in 1993 on the premise that our senior neighbors lead happier, healthier lives when they “age in place”.

But how does one continue to live at home without viable transportation, basic chores around the home, or access to essential services? Senior Access connects volunteer drivers with seniors needing a way to get around.

SERVICES

Services include transportation, minor household repairs, medical equipment, reading, assistance with forms, personal visits, phone calls, and more.

VOLUNTEER

Volunteer drivers are in high demand and provide the most essential service to our clients, but there are many others ways that you can also volunteer.

DONATE

Your gifts are a critical element to the success of Senior Access services. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, most donations to Senior Access are tax deductible.
