Golf or Cornhole Anyone?

There are many misconceptions about nonprofit organizations. People commonly think that everyone volunteers their time and there is no paid staff. While we do have many people who volunteer their time, there are also people who are paid staff. We have an Executive Director, an Office Manager, a Director of Public Relations, a Director of Outreach, a Client Coordinator, three Transporation Coordinators, and five Van Drivers! The staff works hard every day to ensure the people we serve are able to get to their doctor appointments, have access to food, and live a less isolated life.

People may think that there is little to no overhead for the organization. Nonprofit organizations have many of the same expenses that every other business has including utility bills, internet service, technology needs, etc. We utilize grants to help cover these business expenses.

A nonprofit organization is just a different type of business entity. The profits brought in go back directly to the people they serve rather than going to any individuals or private stakeholders.

People may wonder why fundraisers are needed. Our programs include the Van Program, Grand Adults Days, Volunteer Programs, and the everyday drives to doctor appointments. These programs help our clients remain a part of their community and help them have access to doctors and groceries.

This is why fundraising is so important to us. We raise funds to support our programs such as the Van Program which incurs costs that include the costs of purchasing the vans, insurance, maintenance, fuel, and van drivers. It's quite an undertaking!

So...can YOU help support our nonprofit organization by playing in The Hole Enchilada Golf and Cornhole Tournament on September 22nd?

Read our latest email newsletter to find out what is happening this month and learn more about the tournament and how you can participate.
